Meet Our Team
Behaviour+ has a team of experts that are passionate about making a difference in your child’s life. Our team specialises in working with children and young people with Autism Spectrum Disorder, however, we also work with a whole range of disabilities. We believe in evidence-based early intervention and working holistically as a team, to provide person-centred services for your child.
Within the Behaviour+ team we have a range of professionals including Behaviour Specialists and Allied Health Professionals including: Psychologists, Occupational Therapists, Speech Pathologists, Special Educators and Counsellors. Having such a versatile team allows us to identify which professionals would be the most suitable to work with your family on your goals.
All of our services are delivered from a Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) framework. In particular, all of our talented team members are trained in Applied Behaviour Analysis (ABA) as well as their own speciality. Being a transdisciplinary team, Behaviour+ is dedicated and excited to work with your family in order to achieve your desired goals.
The Behaviour+ team is continually growing, and we place great emphasis in training our team members, as they are integral to everything that we do. Please see below for further details of our team.
Senior Behaviour Specialist (SBS)
Senior Behaviour Specialists (SBS) have completed their degree in either Applied Behaviour Analysis (ABA) or Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) and also have a minimum of four (4) years’ experience. They may also hold accreditation as a Board Certified Behaviour Analyst (BCBA). The Senior Behaviour Specialists (SBS) are responsible for the overall design, implementation and evaluation of skill development programs and behaviour intervention plans. The Senior Behaviour Specialists (SBS) develop and review all Behaviour Support Plans (BSP’s) and are responsible for any restrictive practice reviews. Senior Behaviour Specialists (SBS) also provide training, overlaps and supervision for the other Therapists.
Behaviour Specialist (BS)
The Behaviour Specialists (BS) have completed or are currently studying a degree level course in either Applied Behaviour Analysis (ABA), or Positive Behaviour Support (PBS). They also have specific experience in Behaviour Therapy as well, previously being either a Junior Therapist or are an Allied Health practitioner who has training in Behaviour Therapy. The Behaviour Specialists (BS) work independently developing skill development programs, Behaviour Support Plans (BSP’s) and reports. They conduct overlaps with the Junior Therapists and also implement the behaviour programs. As professional development and ongoing growth are important for us, they receive regular supervision from the Senior Behaviour Specialist.
Behaviour Practitioner (BP)
Our Behaviour Practitioner (BP) role is the next role after being an experienced Junior Therapist. Therefore, Behaviour Practitioners (BP) are also trained at a minimum RBT level, as well as having relevant experience in delivering Behaviour Therapy. Our Behaviour Practitioners (BP) develop the individual goals for clients, write reports, and implement the individual therapy program under the supervision of a Senior (either a Behaviour Specialist or Senior Behaviour Specialist).
Junior Therapists (JT)
The Junior Therapists (JT) at Behaviour+ have all been trained to a minimum Registered Behaviour Technician (RBT) level. This is a paraprofessional certification in Behaviour Analysis. Junior Therapists (JT) implement Behaviour Therapy Services under close supervision of a Senior staff member. Typically, a Senior will overlap (approx.) one out of every four (4) therapy sessions, as well as receive regular supervision as needed. Junior Therapists are ideal if your child requires multiple sessions a week to practice repetition in order to achieve skill-acquisition.
Our Psychologists at Behaviour+ are trained in a range of different evidence-based therapies. This also includes training in Applied Behaviour Analysis (ABA). Our Psychologists work with both children and adults and are able to work with your whole family, depending upon what your specific needs are.
Our Psychologists are registered with Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) and Australian Psychology Society (APS). They also meet the criteria to deliver services under the NDIS and are registered with Medicare.
